Past & Future Energy – Afrikan New Year

The energy in the last few months has been so dense that I couldn’t even find the space to write something, I have however shared a lot of it on TikTok.

Yesterday Mercury stationed direct, natal Mercury in my chart is retrograde so it didn’t feel too bad from my end however it does feel a little lighter now that those themes aren’t being highlighted.

It’s almost like every planet that needed to be focused on has been retrograde in the past few months, Mercury in Virgo & Leo, Saturn in Pisces, Neptune in Pisces and Pluto in Aquarius and Capricorn. Mercury the planet and energy of communication and technology. Saturn the planet and energy of karma and structure. And finally Pluto the planet of hidden passions and transformation. Looking at where these planets have transited in your chart and the houses they were in in your chart will give you an understanding of the themes for you.

Uranus will be retrograde from the 1st of September until the 30th of January in the sign of Taurus. Uranus the planet and energy of sudden change, expansion and freedom. If you have any of the above planets retrograde in your natal chart, you might find that these transits were really smooth for you.

In the Southern Hemisphere our New Year will be on the 23rd of September which will be a Monday(Moon-day). Inzalo ye Langa, Tswalo ya Letśatśi or Rebirth of the Sun.

Since we have only a few weeks left of our year, doing the above reflection can help you clear out any energies that may have been keeping us stagnant. Once we have been able to reflect and to ground our energy to clear and transmute that energy we will be able to focus on what we’d like to see showing up from what we will be sowing in Spring.

The New year will start on a Moon-day which is the ruler of the feminine energy, the mother archetype, emotions, longings, obsessions and sense of security. The Moon will be in Capricorn that day which is the sister sign of Cancer giving the energy of masculinity, structure, justice and patience. Mind you last year our New Year started on a Saturn day which is what Capricorn is ruled by. The moon will be in the 5H of romance, love, affairs, creativity, joy and self-expression, if you ask me this is an exciting time to be alive. The ruler of Capricorn is Saturn which will be in Pisces(the same sign it was in last year) which represents intuition, spirituality, dreams and delusions in the 7H of relationships, marriage, contracts, equality and sharing.

• The above energy speaks of opposing energy of the ying and the yang giving me the feeling that next year will be a year of meshing and integrating the understanding of collaboration and unity amongst feminine and masculine principles hence the fall of a lot of these patriarchal structures this year.

Looking at the opposite since that’s what nature indicates we should be observing the Moon will be in Cancer which deals with nurturing, sensitivity, compassion, self-protection, security and emotions or being highly intuitive. The moon will then be in the 11H of groups, friends, hopes, future wishes, innovation and technology. The Moon is the ruler of Cancer which makes me look more at which house Cancer rules and that is the 4H of home, roots, family, foundations, children and femininity.

• The energy above again states the trajectory into the feminine, the nurturing and intuition more than logic. Groups, friends, the future, technology, foundations and family will be highlighted where we will need to nurture the feminine and provide her with the safe space to be priestesses again instead of focusing on the unhealed feminine and focusing on logic and structure.

Nebhet in Kemetic Astrology being the “Cancer” of Kemet, gives the energy of death, decay, darkness and magic. All of these are big energies that are focused on with water, renewal and regeneration. The moon which rules Cancer is also what affects the tides of the sea, the emotions of humans being 70% water and the cycles of womban(woman). Darkness isn’t necessarily bad even death isn’t the end, it’s the opportunity to look at shadows and face them. Coming up and growing in the light like a seed that has been germinated or a plant sprouting out of the ground. Change isn’t easy however it is inevitable and like the laws of the Universe there will always be 2 sides, the ebb and the flow, what comes up must come down.

This will be an amazing time to fast and cleanse yourself in many ways, body, mind, spirit, emotions and thoughts. Closing off the things you would like to let go of and intentions of what you’d like more of in the new year. It legitimately feels like a new year, it feels like a rebirth and we need to treat it as such.

Ideas of ways to end off the year like you would in December would be a celebration of the Sun rising again, even if it’s a small celebration. Journaling and creating mood boards for the new year and the things you’d like to manifest. Setting intentions for the new year and the end of this year. And cleansing yourself in every way possible.
